Rebecca + Garrett wanted to find an epic location to watch the sun rise for their elopement, and we made that happen.

I met these two back in Hawaii in 2019 for their engagement photos, and was so excited when Rebecca reached out to me about planning their elopement! They had a general idea of where they wanted their elopement to happen (southern Utah), so I helped them narrow down some location options. We ended up going with the stunning Snow Canyon State Park, which I have to say is such an underrated spot. The park rangers were so helpful with getting the appropriate permits, and the process was super easy! All of the locations we explored inside the park were so easily accessible, with no real strenuous hiking needed. This was in late September, and the weather was perfectly clear with mild temperatures. Even as we were leaving the park in the mid morning, there were still barely any people around, which is so rare for a Saturday! These two were so happy to have privacy, as like most of my couples, they are more on the shy side and didn’t want to have an audience watching then.

We started the morning bright and early at the overlook, to watch the sunrise paint the mountains for their private vows and ring exchange. It was so beautiful to watch the lighting and colors change as the sun came up. Afterwards we headed to the petrified sand dunes, and it was one of those locations that made you feel like you were on another planet! We ended the morning with a short walk to the slot canyons, and it was the perfect spot for them to unwind and soak up the moment together.

We ended up getting breakfast + coffee after at the local Black Bear Diner (iykyk) and just talked about their future plans and what they were excited for the next chapter of their lives together. One of my favorite things about being an Adventurous Elopement Photographer is watching my couples love journey unfold!
